very close for girls' 2nds v cargilfield

As the astro pitch was frozen over, all matches were played indoors on Wednesday 21st. The girls' 2nds played their match as always with an enthusiastic attitude and showed great determination and fight the whole way throughout. With Emily and Claudia on the wings and Tora playing high in the centre, we had many shots on goal in the first half. Grace and Hattie, who had very strong games, made some super tackles and fed the ball wide which pushed the play up and gave us plenty of chances to score. The defence did not have much play in the first half as our attack was so strong, however Cargilfield got a great break just after half time and hit a strong ball into the goal. It wasn't long before Katya and Saskia, working together in defence, got the ball out wide and up into the Cargilfield circle for Claudia to score. This put the game equal. Further into the second half, Cargilfield put more pressure on us, driving the ball down the centre. Honor, who came on as a defender played very well making tackles and pushing the ball out. Dobo in goal had some excellent saves, however Cargilfield attack were strong and managed to score another two goals before the full time whistle. Final score 3-1.
