U9 Boys - Cargilfield

Following last week’s victory, the boys were looking forward to testing themselves against Cargilfield.

 The start of the A team match was fast and furious, each team showing good skills and commitment. After a period of stalemate, Cargilfield got their first score but we soon hit back to draw level and then...we had a “fallow” period when we let them score two more through slack marking and sluggish movement. 3-1 at halftime but we were still very much in it.

After the oranges, much the same pattern emerged; they scored one, we equalised and then gave them too much space and let in two more; 3-1 again at the end of the half!  

The final 6-2 score was a little flattering towards the opposition but so be it.

 

On came the B teams; and what a good match they had too! A real “ding-dong” game when each gave as good as they got and the score stuck at 0-0 at half time! All to play for then...

The second half started as the first but a few changes of personnel and positions yielded two goals to match the two Cargilfield scored. The final score of 2-2 was just right!

 

A thoroughly enjoyable afternoon in the end. Well done all 14 players!
