Under 11/10 Rounders v compass
Belhaven 10.5 Compass 4.5

On Wednesday afternoon excitement filled the air as our first rounders match was about to commence. Mairi Donaldson captained the side with Mercedes Bannister giving her support.
Unfortunately, we lost the toss and were put into bat first but it did give us the opportunity to put our new bats to the test early on. Mairi Donaldson as well as Amelia Cookson led the charge of scoring rounders and coincidentally both performed well as bowler. Mercedes Bannister as well as Jemima Black fitted well into the role of 1st post and were kept on their toes with throws from Grizel Hocknell and Sophie Benson when the batter missed the ball. Rosabel Kilgour proved herself to be a very reliable catcher on 2nd post and was expertly backed up by Jeanie Gibbs and Sophie Walker-Munro both playing an innings each as 2nd deep. Emilia White kept her cool on 3rd post with support from Rosie Barnes behind her as a deep. Abigail Pooley and Annabel Wailes Faribairn had the pressure of fourth post but both girls tried not to panic and keep alert as the ball could come to them from any direction.
A very encouraging first match where certain girls showed glimpses of what they have to offer for the rest of the season.
Man of the Match: Amelia Cookson and Mercedes Bannister
