U10 Rounders vs loretto

An excellent first match for the U10 girls.

Despite drizzly conditions making it harder to run fast and score rounders, the girls were very determined and worked hard as a team.

Mercedes led the team as Captain, always alert and on the ball at first post . Emilia bowled accurately throughout both innnings and batted well scoring the first rounder of the afternoon. Rosie's speed and skill in throwing the ball long  as backstop prevented Loretto scoring several 1/2 rounders. Jemima was always ready to receive the ball at second post and with a strong bat helped put us in the lead scoring several rounders. Julia and Izzy realised that they needed to keep their eye on the ball at all times and improved their fielding skills in the second inning. Bibi, Matilda and Cassia batted well and provided good back-ups at 2nd and 3rd deep.

It was a tight match and Loretto kept the girls on their toes, but good teamwork during fielding and strong batting, put us 1/2 rounder ahead at the end of the final inning.
