Pupils across the school took part in swimming heats to qualify for the gala and diving cup held yesterday.

 Middles front crawl start

Fierce competition and some strong swimmers in Form 5 making their debut, it was an exciting morning of races. With all entrants swimming their hardest, the times were close.

diving cup

Competitors that entered heats in the gala also took part in the Diving Cup.

A panel of judges watched as selected pupils dived into the pool; forwards, backwards, and with as little splash as they could manage.

Judges were looking for vertical entries, arms and legs together, straight arms and legs and also for pupils attempting to do more complex dives.

The winner will be announced at the end of term...
