Loretto netball tournament

 Loretto Tournament

The Under 11 Netball team were on top form on Sunday as they saw off competition from Lomond School, Ardvreck and Cargilfield to win the Loretto Tournament.

Mercedes Bannister successfully captained her team to victory and once again she intercepted the ball well.  Matilda Laird and Rosie Barnes used their height effectively in defence and were very quick to stop any attack advancing from the opposition. Cassia Roberts and Isabella Baillie worked hard as WA helping to provide a link between their defence and shooters and both had improved their final pass into the circle. Emilia White seemed to be everywhere on the court whether it was intercepting the ball or passing it, she seemed to be in the right place at the right time. Jemima Black and Julia Tyndall were on top form for the tournament. Their confidence and team work within the shooting circle shone through as goal after goal was added to our final total.

The girls played extremely well on Sunday and showed me just how far they have come from the beginning of term. Each girl in the team played their part and we would not have won unless each of them played as well as they did.

The victory may also be down to some familiar faces that appeared on the courtside during our matches!
