Message in a Bottle
Every year the children of Belhaven get the chance to go to Pease Bay. This year, Mr. Wilson found a bottle wash up at his feet. When he picked the bottle up, he found it had a message inside, from a boy who lived in Mansfield, Notts.
4c have taken this example and are trying something similar. We have been practising our letter writing and have written letters describing our lives; where we come from, who we are, our likes/dislikes etc. These have all gone into bottles and last week on a windy day we drove down to near East Barns and threw them out into the North Sea.
We deliberately chose that point as a location where the bottles would stand a chance of being washed far out into the North Sea, if they can avoid local currents which would sweep them either to Eyemouth or into the Forth Estuary. We found an area with a good, strong outflowing current and cast away towards Norway.
Here are some pictures of us.

It's soooooo bracing!

Solid ground at last

Are these a) WWII war defences, b) coastal erosion defences c) the anchors of ships washed up over the years?
