Girls' 2nds v cargilfield

Well, what an exciting first game! Belhaven, after only two training sessions played out of their skin against a very evenly matched Cargilfield team.

In defence we had Dobo who made some super saves, and Sophie B. and Madeline who were solid and reliable. Although the Cargilfield attackers were strong and skilful, they found it difficult to get past the back line, being tackled and put under pressure by Sophie and Madeline.

Mairi played centre mid and did a great job of holding the centre of the field and passing the ball out wide. On the right we had Bea (captain), who made some fantastic runs up the wing, passing the ball right across the circle. Poppy played centre forward, and her skills on astro helped her beat the Cargilfield defence almost every time. On the left wing we had Grizel, one of the most determined players on the pitch.. who also scored a hat trick!

An amazing performance girls, keep up the eager attitude and the hard work.
