Girls' U10 v Compass

The Belhaven team warmed up and were eager to start this match.  An early goal from Compass was scored as we were still settling into the match and another one followed, from not watching the ball in the defending circle, soon took Compass ahead.  Zinnia and Alice played well in defence, with Zinnia pushing the balls away that soon came her way.  In Midfield, Bridget and Rosie were waiting and keen to keep possession to pass the ball along to Tallula, Miranda and Hannah who were up towards our attacking circle.  Tatiana too made some great saves in defence and Holly was more confident this match, to dribble with the ball.

Depsite several attempts from Miranda to score a goal and a great run from Tallula, the Belhaven girls did not manage to score in this game. 

All the girls improved their hockey in this match, gaining more confidence to run and dribble the ball rather than just hit it away from them.  You still need to work on that spacing we have been trying out as well as keeping the ball away from your feet, watching it at all times.  Things to now try out in the next match against Loretto.
