Girls' U10 v Loretto
Belhaven 7 - Loretto 1

After a tough game on Monday, the girls started off the match with great determination. A close game for the first few minutes, the Belhaven team knew they would have to play well, using their new confidence dribbling with the ball and beginning to space out on the pitch. This worked really well and keeping possession of the ball, the Belhaven attack, Hannah, Miranda and Tallula were soon shooting at the goal. Three goals in succession for Miranda followed by one from Hannah took us firmly into the lead by half time. Some great defence too from Zinnia, with improved play by Alice saving some of the Loretto shots at goal, they failed to score in the first half.
Excited to continue, the girls had to keep focused on the game and play the second half with the same determination as the first. Tatiana proved to be a solid defensive player sweeping the balls away from the goal, whilst Rosie and Bridget provided the vital link in midfield. Another goal from Miranda, one from Hannah and Tallula too, took our score to 7. Loretto too, were determined to score. A very quick and skilled Loretto attacker had many shots at the goal, finally succeeding despite some great Belhaven defence.
A great game today girls - you are beginning to work as a team finding each other on the pitch and make spaces for the ball to move into. Your running and dribbling with the ball was super this match and you all communicated well on the pitch, following Miranda's instructions to keep your sticks down!
Well done girls - you deserved a win!
Most Improved player - Rosie
