U11 GIRLS’ VS EDINBURGH ACADEMY

The day was perfect for hockey. We took the first centre pass and the ball was down in the opposition’s end for most of the match. As we got down to the D they kept hitting it out so we had to fight to get it back. Emilia scored a great goal using the slap shot. It was 1-0 as it got towards our end but Mercedes did a great hit down towards the opposition’s D as Izzy scored an awesome goal using her left hand stick. (Her first of the season!)

The second half started after a quick orange break. Edinburgh took the centre and passed out the wing where Izzy furiously retrieved the ball. She dribbled for a little down the wing and then passed to Emilia who did a great job of dribbling and tackling into the D. Cassie also showed a lot of good skills in her dribbling and hitting into the D. We kept the ball for most of this half and Izzy scored another goal. Edinburgh had the ball in our D until Rosie came out as defence and hit it out of the D to Cassie who passed to me (Jemima) in the D and I (Jemima) scored a goal.

After that Mrs Rawson swapped our positions around as Matilda dribbled up to the goal and landed on the goalie. Julia did a great job in the goal, saving 4 balls keeping us firmly in the lead.

It was at that point the final whistle blew!
