U9 v Loretto

High –scoring game ends in draw.

After a lengthy break in fixtures, the U9 entertained Loretto for a return match. Both teams quickly hit their strides and a fast and furious game ensued, Belhaven just edging the first half 4-3.

The action continued apace after the break and Loretto forged ahead with 3 quick goals. But this U9 team was not going to be out-done and, after some fairly frantic play the teams were locked at 4 goals apiece in the second half, a slender 8-7 lead to Belhaven overall with time running out.

 
In the dying seconds of the game Loretto equalised and there just was not enough time to get the lead back. So a draw it was: 8 all!

 
A lot of fun and a good warm up for Wednesday’s triangular fixture against Cargilfield and Fettes
