Form 5 Visit to the Main Street Trading Company
St Boswells

Form-5-and-their-books

When we went to St Boswells on a trip we had such a good time. It took us about an hour to get there, but we had so much fun we did not even notice it was that long. Finally we got there safe and sound parked the van and out we hopped and we had a very nice lunch and it was delicious. We had a choice of egg sandwiches, chicken, cheese and pickle and tuna. After the picnic the other schools came and we went into the Sugarhouse Gallery. We went up the creaky wooden stairs and then we sat down and waited for a couple of minutes. Suddenly we all went quiet and they were coming up the stairs. We saw Alexander McCall Smith and James Robertson. It was amazing. First we learnt some Scottish words, like puggies that is monkeys in English. Then James Robertson read us a story in Scottish. Alexander McCall Smith gave us a quiz and if you get the answer right you would get five pounds. I was shocked, but I did not get £5! I didn’t mind. The best of all was the very end of the show when we chose a book and guess what? Alexander McCall Smith signed it!
