U10 hockey 2

The girls had a super morning of Hockey last Saturday, as they played in the U10 Compass Tournament.  Warmed up and ready to start, they certainly played with determination in their first game against George Heriot's.  A sneaky goal from Miranda, some great passes from Tallula and Hannah into the circle to score more goals, along with great defence from Zinnia and Tatiana allowed the girls to stay ahead in the game.  Rosie was working hard to gain possession of the ball and keen to tackle the opponent, whilst Bridget and Alice kept the ball on the Belhaven team and away from our defence zone.

With one victory already, the girls knew the match against Compass would be tough.  A quick goal from the Compass team and our defence were soon ready to fight back.  A much more even game this time, with Belhaven scoring next, then Compass and then Belhaven, until Compass scored one last to take them to victory just before the final whistle.

The U10 team then played George Watson's in the semi final.  A talented and strong team, the Belhaven girls found it difficult to stick with a player and were now playing a much more defensive game.  Some quick goals from the opposition saw George Watson's take the lead, in the end winning the competition.

What a super way to end off the term, girls.  You have all played really hard and your hockey has improved so much.  You have the making of a great U11 team next year!  I am really proud of you all.
