1st XI v Loretto
The Belhaven Hill 1st XI played Loretto today, here at Belhaven, in a limited overs match that did not result in a Belhaven Hill win.
What can I say? We were disappointing with the ball and with the bat. George C made a couple of fantastic stops at cover. Fred bowled accurately in his first spell and did very well to bowl their opener – a very fine batsman, and a wicket that gave us a chance early on. Dougal showed that he is beginning to develop some real pace. Henry turned the ball. Apart from that, it was insipid. Loretto scored 162. Stods made an entertaining 25 that included five fours. Geordie hit a nice four. Cuthbert entertained for a few balls. Will hit a couple of good fours. Cappy made six. Cappy! Six! Not out. We made 82. We lost.
