4c Plant out the School Garden

This year the school has got its own school gardens which are planted solely with vegetables. The plots will be looked after by a group of hand-picked gardeners whose job it is to weed and water.

These vegetables will be picked in the autumn with the food going to the school kitchens, so the children can say that they have grown the crops, picked the, had them cooked onsite and eaten them. In addition, the peelings are then brought back to the gardens to be turned into compost which then goes back on the land, to help produce food for the following season.

Here are some pictures of 4c planting out potatoes, red and green cabbages, cauliflowers, broccoli, sprouts, rhubarb and onions.
