U9 v Fettes

We batted first, Jock WM and Hamish were our first pair. As usual, Jock set about knocking the ball to all corners of the field and rattled a couple of 6s and four 4s. Hamish prodded a couple of singles and they both lost a wicket which meant they put on 34.                                                              Total 34

Murray and Al were next, being honorary U9 for the day. They were soon running a few cheeky singles but they both paid for it by losing a wicket apiece butas there were agood few extras, they put a further 12 runs.                                                                                                              Total 46

William P and Jock B were up next and played so very tentatively that they pushed the score on by a not-so-whopping 1 run!                                                                                                           Total 47

On came the last pair of Pierre and William R who did their best but lost five wickets between them and despite a few extras managed only -16 runs!                                                                                                   Final Total 31

Fettes came to bat knowing exactly what they needed to do to win and their first two pairs won the match at a canter, rattling 61 runs between them. The last two pairs added 59 runs for a comprehensive win.                                                                                                                       Final Total:120
