U9 Rounders v Loretto

The Under 9 girls were so excited as they began their match.  As Loretto batted first, the girls were keen to stop then opposition from scoring.  Great bowling and good passes between the team allowed Loretto to only score 4 rounders.

As Belhaven took their turn in the batting square, it took a while for them to begin to connect with the ball.  Finally a great hit from Pandora, followed by one from Flora secured our first two rounders.  Half from Susannah and Sophie along with another from Pandora, took our half time score to 5 rounders.

With Belhaven leading by just 1 rounder, the fielding needed to be secure.  A few balls thrown to the wrong post gave away half rounders to the Loretto team.  As Loretto became more confident batting, they were aiming for the all important half rounders.  A further 5 rounders gave them a total of 8 rounders.

Batting for the final time, Belhaven now had a target to beat.  Jemima led the way, followed by Susannah, Flora, Sophie and Ruby all scoring half rounders on their first go.  Continued great batting from Amy saw the Belhaven girls score a rather impressive 7 1/2 rounders this innings.

Smiles on all their faces as the U9 girls won their match.

Well done girls, some good talent in this group.  I look forward to coaching you all when you are seniors!
