Under 11 ROunders v Longridge

Having a match first day back after half term is not ideal but I had faith that the Under 11 girls would quickly get back into the swing of things.

Within the first four balls it was business as usual with Jemima Black scoring half a rounder. Silvie Hoyer Millar once again hit the ball perfectly between backstop and 4th post and just missed out on scoring numerous half rounders. Jemima was supported by Georgina Hope, Bibi Cuthbert, Mercedes Bannister, Emilia White, Izzy Baillie and Rosie Barnes all helping to bring our first innings total to seven.

Although we let Longridge score half a rounder with their first ball we quickly settled down and kept Longridge to only scoring two and a half rounders in their first innings.

It was full steam ahead with our second innings of batting. Julia Tyndall and Jemima Black led the charge with the rounders along with Emilia White, Mercedes Bannister, Cassie Roberts, Matilda Laird and Georgina Hope as they all helped to score thirteen rounders bringing our final total to twenty.

Polly Armstrong-Wilson got us off to a good start in our second innings of fielding as she took a very tricky catch out at third deep. Mercedes Bannister and Rosie Barnes produced their usual quick fielding to ge some of the Longridge girls out at first. As a result of a great team effort we once again kept Longridge to only scoring two and a half bringing their final total to five.
