Form 2 Success at Fettes Latin Day
A wonderful day was had by Belhaven pupils at Fettes with professionals enthusing and inspiring children about the Classics; Centurions, Storytelling, Treasure Hunt, a Roman Play and a traditional Roman feast. We met up with other schools from Craigclowan, Ardvreck, Mowden Hall and St. Mary's.
Here are some snaps from the day.

Being met by the centurion.
We were split up into groups, and my group started out with the drama play; dolium pandorae (Pandora's Jar).

Donald and Jack acting on stage.

Donald in typically shy mode.

Rex volunteers Hannah for a role.

Hannah gets stuck in!

Rex doesn't get away lightly either ...

Next up, a fierce pair of centurions.

Murray, Hannah (hidden), Rex and Angus chat away.

Donald leads our legion on to our next activity ...

A Roman slap-up meal!

'Is this wine?', several asked/hoped.

We bumped into Abi on our treasure hunt.

Jock and Hugo get some help from her ...

... and go on to find the treasure with Mungo.

The storyteller was extremely popular.

Down to business - the Gladiatorial Vocabulary Challenge Final against the other schools. Rosie came fourth, Bridget second. HUGE congratulations to both girls.

The assembled throng listen to Mr. Girdwood, Head of Fettes' Latin.
