On Friday the school celebrated Rabbie's birthday in style with everyone wearing kilts and enjoying a sumptious, four course meal for lunch.
The day began everyone dressing in kilts for the occasion. Mr Townshend then did an assembly which involved a Scottish themed quizz competition between the laddies and the lassies. The lassies won and will be rewarded on Monday by Miss Graham.
Lunch was the main event of the day with the halls looking quite jolly with tartan napkins, Rabbie Burns balloons and jugs of that other national drink: Irn Bru! As the school assembled to lead in to lunch, Robbie entertained us all with his piping from the top of the red stairs.
After the Selkirk Grace, everyone tucked in to a starter of Cullen skink before the haggis was piped in by Robbie and carried by the headboy, Lochie. Lochie then went on to toast the lassies. With mountains of haggis consumed, the lovely pudding of cranachan was served up and Ella and Ruth toasted the laddies. The final course was tablet which was enjoyed while Josh read My Heart is in the Highlands.
Well done all those who played or spoke today, thanks to the chef and kitchen for the wonderful meal and to the gaps for blowing up all those balloons!
