Girls' Cricket at Loretto

A second visit to Loretto for the girls Cricket team on Sunday but this time some more Form 1 girls were in the team. Our fielding structure was good in the first innings and we managed to keep the Loretto runs quite low putting pressure on the opposition. When it came to batting the girls were very keen on the crease and really went for the ball, this meant we lost a few more wickets but we still managed to keep the runs ticking over. The first game finished 103 - 74 to Loretto.

In the second game the girls showed even more determination with the bowlers and fielders preventing the Loretto girls from making many single runs. The batting stayed aggressive and with a few miss fields and some risky runs our girls really totted up the score. In the last over our girls went one run ahead, any wicket would put us back 5 runs but Katya Eardley and Anna Lowry kept their eye in. With two balls to go there was a dropped catch off a hit by Katya, nail biting stuff! With the last ball though, Anna drove home the victory with a smashing six right over everyone's heads. Final score was 89 - 105 to Belhaven Hill. Well done girls.
