Free Verse: My thinking place
Sitting in a tree looking down into a stream
A forest behind me,
A field of wild flowers in front.
Memories coming back to me,
And faces of people show themselves in the water.
Pictures of people I knew, know and lost.
The world slowly fades away as I am lost in my thoughts.

Free Verse: My Great grandmother
When I was 7 years old,
I would run down from my granny’s house to the block of flats every Sunday with some flowers in my hand.
An old lady in a wheelchair would be waiting.
“Great Granny!” I would shout.
She would have a little tea party set up for me.
She would let me have all the good cakes,
Then a sleep on her fur carpet.
But one Sunday I couldn’t go to her house,
The next Sunday was the same, and the next.
I couldn’t understand why.
I didn’t need to.
I was too young to know she was never coming back.

James:

Free Verse: MY GIANT TREE HOUSE
My Giant tree house is about 25 metres tall,
The dusty wooden trap door with a rope to pull it up,
The stairs leading up to the first floor and second floor,
Its tiny, windy, one metre wide and long balcony with a roof sticking out to protect you from the rain,
The windows with no filling so you can climb out onto the walkway,
The ginormous first floor which is five metres wide and long,
The very dusty and three metres wide and long second floor,
I feel very happy when I am in my giant treehouse.

Look out of the window into the green garden and up into the pink sky the glittering sun is setting.
