X-C Championships 2010

The most successful championships for 10 years! 

The U10 girls got the afternoon under way, Flora settling among the leaders from the start to finish 3rd , with Sophie in hot pursuit placing 5th, Jemima 9th and Pandora valiantly bringing up the rear in a very creditable 17th out of 34 runners to win the cup!

The U10 boys were next, Jock WM running a strong race to claim 3rd place after a tight tussle right up to the line; Hamish claimed an excellent 5th, William came in 13th and Jock B 20th out of 30 runners, the team finishing 2nd , just one point behind the winners!

The U12 girls set off next Emilia showing strongly from the start, closely followed by her sister and the others following close behind. At the end, Emilia was 1st, Zinnia an excellent 2nd, Rosie a terrific 5th, Miranda came 11th,Cassia16th and Jemima 17th out of 45 runners, which meant that they were easy winners overall!

So to the U12 boys: Jamie set a scorching pace from the start and was never going to be beaten, finishing strongly to claim1st, Angus did well to finish 18th, Jock came in 36th, Sam 43rd ,and Freddie was 49th out of 53 runners, the team finishing 8th.( George had not recovered enough from illness and was not able to finish)

The Senior girls next braved the course, Rosabel taking an early lead and bringing them home in 1st place, Rose close behind in 3rd, Sophie a little further back in 7th, with Bea 8th, Jeannie 11th, Iona bringing up the rear in 22nd out of 33 runners to clinch an easy victory!

Last to set off were the Senior boys, who were really keyed up for this, having had few running opportunities this term. They ran very hard to finish as follows: Freddy 3rd, Tom 4th, Andrew 5th, Caspar 6th Henry 11th and George 20th out of 32 runners, thereby ensuring yet another victory !
