World Maths day - The results

Form 3 has taken part in World Maths Day 2010. The event lasted for 48 hours and in that time the children have participated in mental arithmetic games, playing against other students in real time using the World Maths Day online game engine. The event encourages students of all ages, backgrounds and abilities to have a go at maths in a fun, interactive and accessible way.
Each game they played lasted 60 seconds and involved arithmetic problems including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and minor equations. The top scorers in Form 3 for the games were: Alexander Hall answering 28 questions correctly in 60 seconds, Sam Pooley answering 27 questions correctly and Julia Tyndall answering 23 questions correctly. (They did not quite manage to beat Mrs Gale’s score in answering 40 correct questions!)
Over the last 48 hours, Form 3 answered a total of 12,960 questions, with 11,428 being answered correctly. Our total year group score was 11,428 – a great first effort by all who took part.
