Swimming at Belhaven is an increasingly popular sport and challenges all pupils relative to their ability. 

During the Autumn and Spring terms pupils not competing in matches travel to Eyemouth Leisure Centre for swimming lessons on Wednesday afternoons.

The outdoor pool at school is open during the Summer term through until the end of September. As well as being a very popular choice of activity during weekends, pupils are taught lessons once a week during Games sessions to improve their swimming skills and stamina. Swimming squads are also run in Activity sessions.

Throughout the year Belhaven competes in several galas against other schools, such as Kilgraston and Merchiston, and last year hosted galas against The Compass School and West Barns Primary School.

The main highlight of the year is the Belhaven Swimming Gala and Diving Cup. Every pupil in the school has the opportunity to take part in time trials, with the whole school  providing an audience for the finals.
