form 3 visit merchiston for their science and technology morning
Once again, Form 3 had a super morning attending the Merchiston Science and Technology sessions. They completed activities in Biology, Physics, DT and IT. All of the children thoroughly enjoyed themselves.

This is what the children thought of the morning:
In physics we learnt a lot about Light and Colours and then we made a Pinhole Camera. In biology we looked at a leaf of a small plant and parts of a bee. We also held snakes and other reptiles. It was great fun!
In our first activity in IT we had to make our own computer game. It was really good fun. During DT we made keyrings, my second one was cool.

In DT we made keyrings using moulds. During biology some of us held snakes - not me though, I'm scared of them!
I really enjoyed I.T. It was really fun and I never realised it would be so easy to make a great game. In physics we were shown the primary colours, which when mixed together made really unexpected colours. It was fascinating.

In IT we had to make a game where you had to control the big fish and make it eat the little fish - it was great.
In biology we looked at some cells, pondweed and dead bees. We also saw some of their animals. I touched the Boa Constrictor.
I.T. was awesome! We had to make a computer game. We saved it onto a memory stick so we could keep it. In physics we made pinhole cameras which showed us images upside down.
Here are a few more photos from the morning.
