Four Calling Birds
This year, forms 3 and 4 became ‘stuck’ in the Twelve Days of Christmas, for their Christmas Musical. The Five Gold Rings had gone missing and so they were unable to continue the song until they had been found.
The Choir performs
The story began with the Choir Mistress (Sophie) conducting the choir in their final song of the Christmas Concert. Everything went smoothly until they started to sing the ‘Twelve Days of Christmas’ – then the song became stuck on verse five and it would stay that way until Matt (Ollie) and Lucy (Grizel) could work together and find the letters for the missing ring.
Matt and Lucy
Mr Partridge (Angus) gave the instructions to Matt and Lucy and they went on their search. Every time the pair searched for a letter, the Master of the Rings (William) and his assistants Fiver (Will), Goldie (Rupert) and Ringo (Charlie) would appear to give them the missing letter. Matt and Lucy first came across the Two Turtle Doves (Archie and Jeanie) who were busy deciding where to go together. With their help, and one verse from a carol, the first letter was found.
Three French Hens
Next, they met with the Three French Hens (Geordie, Rosabel & Jemima – replacing Amelia at short notice) who were ‘French you Know!’ and greeted them with their song ‘Bonjour – allo’. The four Calling Birds (Tom, Abigail, Annabel & Kit) were the next people in the song to meet Matt and Lucy. With their help and the use of their mobile Phones, the Calling Birds, Matt and Lucy find the next letter.
The Master of the Rings with his assistants
News quickly travels to Matt and Lucy that Mr Partridge has been captured by the Master of the Rings – will Matt and Lucy be able to save him in time and get the final letter and the missing ring? Of course they do and the song can then be performed and the concert finishes.
Well done forms 3 and 4 a great play this year!
