Relief and Contours

Form 3 have been learning about relief and contours in their Map Skills geography topic this term.

Contour maps can be tricky things to master but watching popular 'Deadly 60' presenter, Steve Backshaw, explain them online helped a bit, as did a practical, 3D modelling activity.

The children created 3D hills of various steepness with layer colouring and then put them together to form a 3D map of a river valley and lake.
