Fundraising for RNLI Dunbar
Last week, Belhaven was delighted to welcome the Dunbar RNLI to give a talk about the incredible work that they do and to present them with a cheque for £1542. Adrian Lavery and Douglas Wight spoke to the children about staying safe in the sea, their team of volunteers and the equipment they use. The children were delighted to learn that they had raised enough to provide a volunteer with the personal gear they would need to stay as safe as possible.
These funds were raised at the school's Highland Games, organised by the PTFA, which included tug o’war, wellie wanging, haggis hurling, munro bagging, archery (with the Dunbar Archery Club) and various stalls including cakes (made by parents, children and staff), apple pressing (with apples from the school’s walled garden), face painting and friendship bracelet making, to name but a few! We also enjoyed a wonderful Highland Dancing display from The Dunbar Highland Dance Group.
