Old Belhavians' 2020 Reunion Dinner
We were delighted to see the return of so many Old Belhavians last week, when we welcomed back our Form 1 leavers of 2020. This event was very much the inspiration of my predecessor, Olly Langton.
Now embarking on the next chapter of their lives at university and elsewhere, they returned to Belhaven for a reunion that was particularly special because, having left during the Covid lockdown, they never had the opportunity for a proper Belhaven send-off. Six years on, it was wonderful to see the warmth of their friendships which was immediately apparent and provided a lovely reminder of something that sits at the heart of this school: “An Education at Belhaven is a Lifelong Companion.”

We were delighted to welcome back Henry Knight, Headmaster at the time and his wife Susi, who enjoyed catching up with their former pupils and hear where life has taken them since leaving Belhaven.
Our current Form 1s showed the OBs around the school before serving drinks and nibbles and waited on tables during the evening. Seeing one generation of Belhavians welcoming another seemed a perfect expression of the continuity, friendship and sense of belonging.
Thank you Olivia Reynolds and Form 1 for being such excellent hosts. It was a very happy evening and, I hope, the first of many opportunities for our former pupils to return to the school that will always remain, in some small way, theirs.
