This club offers an introduction to writing and counting in Chinese.

A couple of comments from the children:

  • It is nice to learn a different language. If I learn a lot of Chinese, I might be able to visit my great aunt in Hong Kong. It is hard to get it at first but actually you can learn new words easily and it is fun!
  • I like it because I use my imagination to remember the characters.

Counting is actually surprisingly easy as once you know how to count to ten you can count all the way to 99 without learning a single new word (much easier than French!).

An accent is placed on listening and being able to say the words with the right tone, making it quite tricky but also a lot of fun!  Pupils also learn to write characters, and usually enjoy writing them with a brush as on the photo above.
