The PTFA have raised over £4000 and we need YOUR help in allocating these funds. Please pop any ideas for how you think the children can benefit, or the school community enhanced, into the Suggestions' Box which we will bring to the Front Hall on Saturday, 9th December whilst serving you drinks and mince pies.

So far we have received the following requests:

  • Floodlighting for main pitches
  • Monkey bar rings/assault course
  • Air rifle/clay pigeon shooting
  • Stage and stage seating
  • Roof for swimming pool
  • Slide for swimming pool
  • Sound system in the Sports Hall with wireless microphone and speakers
  • Cappuccino machine in Front Hall for parents’ use
  • More comfortable chairs in Boys Common Room with better posters
  • Furniture for Boys House
  • Lacrosse specialist for weekly tuition for Forms 1 and 2

HAVE YOU ANY IDEAS?  If yes, then please don’t forget to pop it in the Suggestions' Box on Saturday!

The objectives of the PTFA are:

  • To harness the enthusiasm and energy of parents, teachers and friends for the greater benefit of the school and its community
  • To focus energy on enhancing the social community of Belhaven as a whole and to make it more accessible to everyone, whether they be current or former pupils, prospective parents or staff
  • To organise frequent events for the benefit of the school, its community and those seeking to join the school
  • To provide regular and diverse opportunities for parents and children to gather in a fun, informal setting
  • To provide a forum for easy communication with current and former parents, prospective parents and staff

Sunday, 17 September 2017:  Belhaven Hill Dog Show, held at Belhaven. Thank you so much to all those who came to school to support this. What a fun afternoon! The feedback has been brilliant, with the Dog Poop Bingo and terrier racing being particular favourites. These will definitely be repeated next time. Well done to all those who entered their pooches for some or all of the events – what a wonderful demonstration of canine ability and delightful manners.  Great to know that Belhaven’s animal husbandry proficiency cannot be questioned. The general consensus is that some sort of family event should be organised for this September weekend every year  – watch this space and we’ll keep you posted …
If you have any photos of the Dog Show that can be put up on this PTFA webpage then please forward them to  If would be lovely to have some visual reminder of what an entertaining day it was.  Thank you very much

Here are some dates we have organised for the next few months.  As a Committee we believe that the introduction of ‘Journey Breakers’ – specifically for when long (or short) journeys are imminent - would be beneficial to the social hub of the school.  Instead of milling around on the gravel, the PTFA is looking forward to providing tea, coffee and a selection of homemade cakes in the Front Hall.  These are scheduled for each Out Weekend with just enough time for a quick drink and slice of cake.  We are hoping this will encourage parents from across all year groups to regularly gather, instead of only meeting one another on the sports field and/or at intermittent school events.  Please refer to ‘Confirmed Dates for 2018’ for details of when these Journey Breakers are scheduled. Hopefully they will become a fun and popular addition to the PTFA calendar.

Friday, 24 November 2017 : AGM.  An opportunity for Committee members and volunteers to come along and hear about what we have planned over the next few months. All welcome. Soup and light refreshments will be served.
