  • Tuesday 30 November 2021 Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols The Belhaven Choristers (the choir of Belhaven Hill School) will lead a traditional candle-lit service of Nine Lessons and Carols at St. Anne's Church on Friday, 10th Dec at 7.30 pm.
  • Saturday 27 November 2021 Music From Belhaven: CD Release Music From Belhaven. A new CD release featuring the Belhaven Choristers and Belhaven Pipe Band
  • Wednesday 10 November 2021 Music from Belhaven For the first time, since they were founded in September 2020, the Belhaven Choristers were able to give a performance out of school. This one in Haddington Parish Church.
  • Friday 5 November 2021 Music Concert at Haddington Parish Church After nearly 2 years of Covid restrictions, the Choristers and Belhaven Pipe Band are able to give a public performance.
  • Tuesday 7 September 2021 Try an Instrument Day The first Saturday morning of the school year was spent with all pupils in Forms 2-6 (plus new pupils in Form 1) partaking in our first ever Try an Instrument Day.
  • Thursday 1 July 2021 Final Pipe Band Session of 2021 One of the highlights of the day was actually playing in the sea! The pupils took off their shoes and socks and stood and played in the waves!

  • Monday 31 May 2021 Colours gained for Musicians Three more pupils were awarded full Music Colours this week.
  • Sunday 23 May 2021 Pipe Band Performs Locally On 22nd May, the Belhaven Pipe Band was able to give their first public performance in 15 months by playing at various locations around East Lothian.
  • Friday 19 March 2021 Choristers' Lockdown Challenge During the Spring Lockdown 2021, the Belhaven Choristers were challenged to teach themselves a Grade 5 singing piece, Panis Angelicus, and send in their recordings from home. They had to do it on their own with no help at all. They were given the sheet music, a recording and a backing track. No rehearsals at all. They then recorded themselves singing it at home.
  • Thursday 4 March 2021 Belhaven Choristers on a High Note The Choristers are highly trained and, within the first few months of formation, three of our Choristers were offered prestigious Music Scholarships at their next schools owing to their standard of singing.
  • Tuesday 23 February 2021 30 Day Music Challenge During the Lockdown in Spring 2021, the pupils at Belhaven Hill School undertook a '30-day Music Challenge'. Their task was to practise their musical instruments for a minimum of 15 minutes every day for 30 days.
  • Thursday 26 November 2020 Music is Flourishing All pupils at Belhaven have two periods of Academic Music per week. This is in addition to the large number of music lessons taking place every week, given by our team of Visiting Music Tutors. We now have reached 100 individual instrumental music lessons per week delivered by 10 music teachers. An amazing 89% of pupils are now learning at least one musical instrument, several are learning two. The emphasis is on preparing the children for their next school, and making GCSE Music accessible for every pupil, as well as inspiring them to be creative with music and having a lot of fun.
