Belhaven Choristers on a high note
Belhaven Choristers on a High Note
New in September 2020 was the formation of the robed "Belhaven Choristers". This elite choir has a set number of 24 places, open to the best 12 boy and 12 girl singers in the school, regardless of age.
They are led by a team of Head Choristers, Head and Deputy Boy and Head and Deputy Girl. Pupils need to be members of the school Boys' Choir or Girls' Choir before being invited for an audition if one of the sought-after places should become available.
This traditional choir will lead all the services in the school, whether it be the two Remembrance Services, three Carol Services or the regular Sunday Services. They also perform at all school concerts and, in the future, out of school too.
The Choristers are highly trained and, within the first few months of formation, three of our Choristers were offered prestigious Music Scholarships at their next schools owing to their standard of singing:
Archie to Ampleforth - Basil Hume Singing, Pipes and Piano
Kit to Ampleforth - Basil Hume Singing and Pipes
Robyn to Glenalmond - Singing and Piano
Plans for "Belhaven Choristers" to sing in various cathedrals and to tour are already underway. This is another exciting new development for the already enormously successful Music at Belhaven.
