Belhaven's Centenary Ball

Belhaven's Centenary Ball

Over 600 Old Belhavians, family, staff and friends of the school were blessed with the most beautiful of summer’s evenings on Saturday 27th May as Belhaven played host to the Centenary Ball. Courtesy of the generosity of our sponsors, donors, volunteers and an incredible amount of hard work by the Committee, the celebrations were a stunning success.

A massed band of pipes and drums, the first of three live performances on the night, stole the show – the current Belhaven Pipe Band formed the core of a multi-generational band that ranged from 10-84 years of age!

Souls duly stirred, guests were treated to a delicious supper and the Headmaster officially opened the Belhaven Centenary Campaign, details of which you can find via this website. Guests then enjoyed the Auction, superbly led by OB parent Anthony Weld Forester and OB Anthony Stodart. OB Geordie Douglas-Hamilton and theInfamous Grouse’ led the reeling before OB Ed Cox and his ‘Fabulous Hurricanes’ took over in the dance tent until the night drew to a happy conclusion.

You can read our press release about the Ball here. Thank you, thank you, to all who helped us to raise over £140,000 on the night, providing funds for transformative bursaries and exciting capital projects. Please do visit our new campaign website and get in touch if you would like to join in and help us to make Belhaven’s second century as successful as its first.
