Boys' Cricket: 2nd v Ardvreck
It was a glorious sunny day at Belhaven for the second fixture of the term. The second team went out to face Ardvreck for which it was destined to be an exciting one.
Belhaven were put into bat first and set out to score as many runs as possible with the target of losing minimal wickets. The team consisted of 6½ (!) players because Kit is still in recovery from his operation and was unable to run and move around the field.
The batting from the Belhaven side is definitely showing improvement from the different training sessions and in comparison to the previous match. The players batted with more confidence and were able to hit the ball well. The key strength in this match was the fact that they did not lose any wickets, resulting in no -5 runs each time for a loss.
Key players who scored some good runs are shown below in the table, and there was a number of fours and a number of sixes scored.
The Ardvreck side were much of a muchness in ability. However, we managed to claim six wickets which, for Ardvreck, lost them 35 runs.
Well done on the victory.
