Boys' Rugby: U11 v Ardvreck

U11A Rugby vs Ardvreck
Belhaven 11 – 3 Ardvreck

With various matches having been postponed, or cancelled, before the half term break it has been over 6 weeks since the boys have played a competitive fixture and they were champing at the bit to put into practice what they had been working so hard for on the training field.

After a bitterly cold and wet Games session the day before, the skies cleared and allowed for some wonderful running rugby. Belhaven’s attacking game was fantastic and the side ran in five unanswered tries in quick succession, with scores coming from set pieces, offloads in the tackle and width of the pitch passing. Ardvreck got one try before the break after some sustained pressure.

The second half saw much of the same in terms of the score line, with some brilliant individual tries being scored. It was wonderful to have parents on the sideline once again watching an impressive display from the boys, which ended Belhaven 11 – 3 Ardvreck.

There will be more challenging matches to come with Cargilfield coming to BH next weekend. If we are to put up as convincing a performance then, the structure both in defence and attack must be as it was in the first 5minutes of this game.

Tries: Sam, Harry, Archie S (2), Eck (2) and Alfie (5)
