Choristers' Busy Weekend
The Belhaven Choristers had a very busy weekend just before half term.
The new Head Chorister team for 2022/23 was announced: Willow and Laurie, together with their Deputies Sophie and Fin, now lead the Choristers this year.
Saturday 8th October saw the debut of 18 new Choristers, as the choir performed an afternoon concert at St Anne's Church in Dunbar. Before the concert, the Choristers held a public rehearsal and training day.
The concert was well attended and very well received. The Choristers performed 10 brand new pieces extremely well and the future looks bright. So many Choristers moved to new schools last summer and it is so encouraging to hear that many of them are now singing in their senior schools' Chapel Choirs.
The following day on Sunday 9th October, the Choristers left early morning for the Glenalmond Choral Day. This was a wonderful experience for the Choristers. The Choristers sang to a high standard, which included a wonderful solo by our Head Chorister Laurie, and semi choruses from our school, as well as our Choristers singing on their own in front of the other choirs. After rehearsals there were fun activities to take part in and the Choristers then stopped in Perth for a wonderful Sunday roast carvery at a local restaurant. The Choristers now prepare to lead the morning All Saints Day Service on Sunday 30th October at St Anne's Church in Dunbar, followed two weeks later with our special Remembrance Sunday service at the front of school. All this whilst preparing for two Carol Services, the Dunbar Carol Service for the town on Monday, 11th December at 7pm, then our own School Carol Service on Wednesday, 13th at 11.30am.
