Well done girls – it took a little while to adjust to playing kwik cricket again and reminding ourselves of the scoring but you played brilliantly. There was some superb bowling this afternoon and you certainly found it easier to hit the ball today. We just need to work on ensuring we call for the ball when going for a catch and tighten up our ground fielding.
Player of the Match – Isla

On Wednesday, we were treated to a wonderful afternoon of stunning weather but more importantly the U13 2nd girls delivered a fantastic performance to secure a well-deserved win in their first cricket fixture against Strathallan. With blue skies overhead, the girls showcased their growing confidence and teamwork throughout an exciting match.
The girls won the toss and elected to field first. Our fielding in the first innings was sharp and focused. Adriana was first up to bowl and quickly found her rhythm, keeping the opposition under pressure with accurate, consistent deliveries. Special mention goes to Chloe and Abi, who each took two wickets, while Clara’s quick hands behind the stumps led to a brilliant run-out. The fielding was sharp and energetic, helping to restrict the opposition to a modest total.
Chasing the target, our batting pairs rotated well and showed great composure. Adriana and Lordes opened with flair, striking two boundaries in their first over, while Abi and Chloe added crucial runs with smart calling and strong running between the wickets. Molly and Clara kept the momentum going with clever shot selection and quick runs. The girls finished the first half with a total of 258 runs to Strathallan’s 217 runs, giving us a strong platform to build on.
In the second innings, we built on our lead with another disciplined fielding display. The girl's fielding was energetic and alert, with Abi taking a sharp catch and Molly bowling a tight spell to limit the opposition’s runs.
To finish off the final innings, we built on our lead ever further with another disciplined batting display. Chloe hit several crucial boundary balls and Maria and Leonie helped to push our total to a sound victory of 313 runs to Belhaven and 275 runs to Strathallan.
A brilliant team effort in the sunshine—well done, girls!
