Girls' Hockey: 1st v Loretto

1st vs Loretto

We were all very excited because Anna Thomas was playing for Loretto so we wanted to beat her. However, we knew it was going to be close as there are many good players in the Loretto squad. So, after we were all warmed up, we were ready to start. We won the toss.

Cleodie started with the ball and off we went. It was a tough start as Loretto were very good. Loretto scored an early goal. This came as a shock to us but we were not giving up. Our defence stayed strong with Annie, Lucy and Panda not giving up. Though soon we had an opportunity, Cleodie did a shot across goal and Bea deflected it in. It was now 1 - 1. Loretto had a few more shots at goal Amaryllis was not going to let any goals pass her. We kept going with a great mid field off Molly, Daisy and Emily. Sadly, Loretto scored a shot at goal, bringing the half time score to 1 - 2.

In the second half we gve it our all and everyone kept positive. Loretto had another two more shots at goal and scored. We were getting very tired but we were not stopping. Soon we were into the last five minutes and Belhaven was playing very strong and putting Loretto under lots of pressure. Finally we got a shot at goal; Cleodie again pushed the ball across the goal and Bea deflected it in.

The end score was 4 - 2 to Loretto.
