Girls Netball 1st v Mowden Hall

Girls' Netball: 1st v Mowden Hall

Belhaven Hill First Team 4 - 24 Mowden

With key players missing through Thistles representative games this was always going to be a tough assignment against a Mowden side who have qualified for England’s National Netball tournament. This proved to be the case as Mowden moved the ball with great precision and accuracy throughout the first quarter.

In the second quarter, the Belhaven girls moved the ball much better and built confidence through controlling possession and scoring two goals of their own with no reply. Davina worked well with Carmen who received possession from Poppy and Alma.

Again, in the third quarter, Belhaven defended with greater authority and prevented Mowden’s attacking capabilities. Ottie, Mary, Flora and Alice did well to thwart the attack and conceded very few chances.

In the final quarter, Davina scored her fourth goal of the game to ensure the girls had something to cheer about before the final whistle. This was a very tough afternoon in the cold and the drizzle but the girls kept their spirits high and represented the school brilliantly from the first whistle to the last and right though Match Teas too. Thank you for those who came to support in difficult conditions and well done to all of the girls who played.
