Belhaven Hill School recently hosted a Careers Fair for its top year group, offering pupils the chance to hear from a wide range of professionals – including several Old Belhavians – about life beyond school and the opportunities that lie ahead. 

The event featured eight speakers, representing a variety of industries. Career areas included IT and project management, fund management, travel entrepreneurship, asset management, auctioneering, marine and energy business leadership, professional gardening and horticulture, and real estate investment. 

The Fair began with a series of short, impactful presentations, as each guest shared their professional journey, insights, and advice. Pupils then had the opportunity to meet each speaker directly in a fast-paced, speed-dating style format, allowing for informal conversations, questions, and further advice. 

Notably, several of the speakers were Old Belhavians, who offered current pupils a glimpse into how their Belhaven education can serve as a springboard to diverse and successful careers. 

John Marriott, Deputy Head at Belhaven, commented:  

‘This event is a fantastic opportunity for our pupils to broaden their horizons and gain an insight into the world of work. Hearing from parents and Old Belhavians adds a special connection, and shows just how many exciting paths are available beyond school.’ 

The event forms part of Belhaven's wider commitment to preparing pupils not only academically, but also with the confidence, curiosity, and ambition to thrive in life beyond the classroom.
