Pre-Prep: Deck the Halls...!
What a term it has been! We started in warm sunshine and finished in winter with freezing weather, and a dusting of snow. We have packed a lot into this term, and the children have worked incredibly hard. Here is a round up of our Christmas festivities!
On Friday we had not one but three Nativities – the first was the staff performance, which was great fun. We then had a dress rehearsal which was watched by Forms 2, 4 and 5. It was brilliant to have a supportive audience before performing in front of parents for the first time. We had a super pupil tech crew who put together the lighting and sound for us and two talented musicians, Mrs Parks and Miss Lloyd. The children were very excited and understandably there were some nerves. However, they did a fantastic job and performed with an incredible amount of enthusiasm.
On Monday, we had a wonderful afternoon of Christmas crafts and on Tuesday we had our Christmas party. The children got changed into their party clothes after break and we then headed to the dining room where Elena and Mrs Langton had kindly decorated the tables with crackers and Christmas decorations. After the delicious feast we went for a sing song with Miss Lloyd, followed by a mini ceilidh – we did the Dashing White Seargent, St. Bernard’s Waltz and the Virginia Reel. The children are now excited about going to a dance with their parents and showing them what they have learned.

The Pre-Prep parents joined us for our first Carols Round the Tree, where we sang some traditional Christmas songs and carols together. Form 6 performed the poem ‘Another night before Christmas’, choreographed by the amazing Mrs McGrath during their drama lessons. The children were all fabulous and deserve a wonderful and relaxing Christmas. We look forward to seeing everyone back at school in January.
The Belhaven Pre-Prep wishes you all a very Merry Christmas!
