What a Trips Week

What a Trips' Week

Traditionally each year group spends a few days out of school to face challenging activities, educational visits and just plain fun. What better way to end the year?

These trips have been captured in photos and videos.

Form 1:

Form 1 members took a break from formal activities and spent some time in Wells-next-the-sea, Norfolk.  See photo gallery at the bottom of the page.

Form 2:
Form 2 travelled to the Highlands for hill walks, gorge scrambling, rock climbing, abseiling, paddle boarding and kayaking all in the beautiful River Spey area.

Form 3:
Form 3 spent their time sailing, kayaking, archery, tubing and paddle boarding at Loch Insh Outdoor centre.  They also went to the Highland Show as an extra treat!  Here is what one of our pupil's thought:

Highland Show Trip - a bonus!

'When we got to the Highland Show, we went and had a look at the sheep.

Me, Alfie and Archie had a chat to a man with Valais black nose sheep which came from Switzerland. Then we went to look at some cows.  We saw English short horn which were very muscly. Next, we went to look at Clydesdale horses which were very beautiful and tall.  We also looked at Shetland ponies.  After that we went and had lunch watching the chainsaw carving - there was an eagle like the Belhaven one.  We also saw mountain biking and BMX tricks. Then we saw some show jumping which was really cool.  Next, we had some time to spend some money (I got candy floss) and we went on an R A F helicopter and saw other army stuff. We all came back together to watch a man train gundogs.  We had to leave early to learn about bees in the bee tent.  It was really cool to see all the things that bees can make - everyone else made a candle but I didn’t because my father came and I was chatting to him which was nice. After that we had to go back to school, but the journey took a while because there was a car crash.

Overall an amazing day - thank you to all the teachers. Click here to see some photos of our day'.  Eck T.

Form 4:
Form 4 went to the great city of York, where they visited the Shambles, Barley Hall, Jorvik Viking Centre, went on a Ghost Walk, climbed the Minster Tower, got scared in the Dungeons, learnt about Clifford's Tower and went to the Railway and York Army Museums - oh, and had the odd pizza or two.

Form 5:
Form 5 travelled down to Hadrian's Wall and Beamish - walking, picnics, museums, picnics, learning the Victorian school way, down a mine and bags of chocolate from ye olde chocolate shoppe.

Pre-Prep:
Members of Forms 6, 7 & 8 visited Edinburgh Zoo, the Bass Rock, Fort Douglas - played on the local beach, ate the school's strawberries and always, seemingly, had an ice cream in their hands.
