Pre-Prep Activities & After School Club

A well-rounded education happens everywhere - in the art room, on the beach, in the garden, and, yes, sometimes with hot chocolate and a good story!
Our Pre-Prep co-curricular programme and After School Club are designed to let children explore their interests, learn new skills, discover new passions, and simply enjoy being young.
Enjoying Sport
We are fortunate to have wonderful pitches, a sports hall, an astro and an open-air swimming pool. Pre-Prep children access all these facilities and benefit from expert coaching.
Our rounded programme of athletic movement, ball skills and different sports ensures children enjoy participation both at school and in their communities. Through games, children develop the courtesy of good sportsmanship and the courage to try, fail and try again.
Playing Activities in After School Club
Breakfast Club: 7:45 - 8:30am daily
After School Club: 3:30 - 6:00pm (optional 4:30pm pick-up)
Children are fed during both sessions and enjoy relaxation time at the start and end of each day. Because childhood shouldn't be rushed.
Winning Belhaven Awards
This is our very own Junior Duke of Edinburgh-style award scheme which is mirrored in the Prep School. The Belhaven Awards create a series of age-appropriate challenges, based on the core values of Courtesy, Courage and Creativity such as baking a cake, learning a new board game and teaching it to someone else or trying a new food.
Children in the Pre-Prep record their achievements in a journal with teacher and parental support, encouraging independence and pride in achievement.
Going on Trips
The Belhaven trips week is a much-anticipated part of the Summer term for the Prep and Pre-Prep, taking place in the last week of term to celebrate the end of the academic year.
Each year group embarks on three separate day trips arranged by their Form teachers with the children returning to school each evening.
