Boys' Hockey: U11a v Ardvreck

U11a v Ardvreck

After a slight delay to the start times due to traffic we thought everyone was ready to go until our Captain realised, he hadn’t got his gumshield. Mrs Perks heroically volunteered to return to school with him to pick one up. The game had to start but Ardvreck were graceful enough to play with one less player. With lots of space on the pitch the boys started moving the ball around nicely and it wasn’t long before the goals started going in. The boys kept the pace on the ball as they were passing and were hitting the ball cleanly in the D.

The return of our Captain meant that all players were back on the field. More goals were scored and so positions were changed, mids into defence and so on. A little lack of concentration and experience in those positions led to opportunities for Ardvreck in the D. Henry had to make some good saves but eventually one slipped past.

The level of hockey the boys played wasn’t as high as it was on Wednesday. However, the shots on goal and aggression in the D were some of the best all season. A great win, and good to get before Cargilfield next week.
