U11b Hockey Match Report

Goal Scorers

Craigclowan (A)

Johnny x2

For the first match of the season the U11b team got off to a good start using simple skills and doing it well. There was a lot of enthusiasm in all areas of the pitch. Throughout the first half, the U11 boys started to build their positional play. Cosmo who was captain today stayed focused on making sure the defence was solid. Some players need to look at where they need to stand and when to run and into what position. This will come with time and more game experience.  The half ended with the score 2-0 where Craigclowan, scored their goals from continued pressure.

As the second half got underway the boys we slowly building passages of play with strong and delicate passes in the appropriate place. The U11 boys were all over the Craigclowan team, having numerous attempts on goal, some going wide and some being saved by the goalie. The frustrating aspect to the game was the number of times there was feet and if the game had penalty corners the U11 boys may well have scored. However, through determination the Boys managed to set up some great positions for Johnny to score his goals.

A special mention for Harry Brownlow, playing his first ever match in goal, who managed to save 12 goal that were on target. Well done

The final score 2 - 2. Well done to Johnny, Tom and today’s captain, Cosmo, for working hard and playing well in their position.
