Today, in the splendid sunshine of the Costa del Hallhill, the U11b team played their second match against Fettes in the space of two weeks. The boys were focused and working the astro in the first 10 minutes of the match, whether in attack or defence, using appropriate positioning and strong passes.
The Fettes' boys were consistently pressing the line with many comfortable passes and scored the first goal through excellent play. The organisation disappeared out of the Belhaven side, each player having to play every minute of the match, whereas the Fettes' side had three reserves, giving players a rest. More and more goals kept coming and with each a learning experience!
Half time came at the right time 4-0 in Fettes favour.
The second half was the better of the two during which the Belhaven boys conceded five goals. The Belhaven boys scored two and should have score two more but the opportunities went amiss. The whole team at the end were tired but were able to look at the 40 minute experience as a journey of learning and resilience. Well done to all the players.
