Belhaven beat St. Mary’s b and c teams!

Today a comprehensive performance from Belhaven Hill led to two dominant victories at St. Mary’s.  In the first match we went one down but soon hit back through Henry, who got four of our six tries with powerful, lung-bursting surges.  Beetle and Javier scored the other two and frankly the score would have been more had it not been for Henry’s insistence on passing when he had created a clear opportunity for himself and us then missing the chance.  The boys adapted well to the unorthodox application of some of the rules of the game to come out on top.

In the second fixture Belhaven comfortably blew away the St. Mary’s c team as Henry (2), Beetle, Javier and Jamie all notched.  Beetle tackled admirably and Johnny was much more of a threat going forward.  Others still need to look at their technique in the tackle, most particularly actually getting to tackle position (‘in the hoop’) before launching an attempt, rather than flinging desperate arms, zombie-like, ushering ball-carriers through.

St. Mary’s U11c 1-5 Belhaven U11b.
